Further Information
A lovely GWR locomotive arrives with a passenger train a welcome sight indeed for all present including Mr. Parkinson the butcher in his splendid blue liveried Austin 7 van, even the station cat appears to be happy.
Born in Castleford, in the heart of the industrial West Riding of Yorkshire, Kevin Walsh is proud to hail from the town which produced the world-famous sculpter Henry Moore.
After studying illustration at the Wakefield College of Art, Kevin developed an early reputation, initially for his aircraft paintings. In recent years, he has become increasingly known for a much wider variety of subjects. Landscapes, city life and transport in bygone days now figure prominently among his works.
He travels many miles to research his paintings and spends countless hours sketching, before committing the final composition to canvas. Accurate technical and historical detail, combined with an ability to capture the warmth and atmosphere of his subject, are the hallmarks of this remarkably accomplished artist.
Kevin's original oil paintings are in many important collections across the globe. Among his collectors are Sir Jack Charlton, Tony Dorigo, and the ex-Defence Minister Lord Mason.
